Why You Should Use Shea Butter For The Hair

Just like the skin, unrefined shea butter has many benefits for the hair. You can use it as an add on for more moisture for your dry hair as well as on the scalp. If you struggle with dry and dull hair, here are some reasons why you should use unrefined shea butter.

Benefits

Conditions, Moisturizes and Restores Damaged Hair

Raw Shea butter can be used as a deep conditioner for hair. It can be used as a pre-shampoo conditioner to soften and detangle hair prior to washing. Apply generous amounts of shea butter to hair. Cover will a plastic cap and let it soak into the hair shaft for about 30 minutes. Shampoo hair, condition and style as usual.

Promotes a Healthy Scalp

Shea butter is great for a dry scalp due to its moisturizing properties. It is also non-comedogenic so it won’t clog your pores.  Massaging a shea butter-based hair balm or oils will stimulate growth and prevent hair breakage, leading to stronger fast-growing hair.

Protection

Unrefined shea butter can also protect the hair from harmful rays caused by the sun because it contains a small amount of SPF. This is also a protective measure you can use before applying treatments to the hair.

At Shea Radiance, our body and hair care collection contains unrefined shea butter. Add our hair care collection to your next wash day.
